A commiting day with strong offshore winds and two open crossing. Dramatic clouds speeding by above the stark industrial landscape of Skellefteåhamn steelworks. By now, we would try any means possible to avoid getting our feet wet on launching. Having pushed Louisa off, I discovered the over the back method: kayak points into the surf, kayaker crawls along the back deck of the kayak, carefully pulls one leg around and onto the seat followed by the other leg. Maintaining balance at all times, shifts legs forward, followed by rest of body along and down into cockpit. Spray deck on and push off into the surf - easy!
