The high coast. I was shocked and a little dismayed to discover that the only bit of the Swedish coast that rises much above sea level is a 100km stretch about two thirds of the way up the east coast. That said, the 'High Coast' is stunning: near sheer cliffs, vast lumps of rock draped in green, deep hazy fjords: a welcome break to the endless kilometres of pine trees that stretch as far as the eye can see... hold on a minute...
