Assault course

The steel cables supporting fishing nets, perfectly positioned at neck height to decapitate unwary paddlers. These contraptions were common up the east coast, rows of nets a hundred or more metres long, poking out from the shore, ready to catch the shoals of passing salmon or herring. Isn't that cheating?
